In short: Emaili is software that runs on your own computer. We do not operate email servers, and we do not receive, store, read or sell the contents of your email, your contacts, your calendar, or your account passwords. The limited information we do handle — for example, when you buy a license or write to us for support — is described below.

1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy is issued by Emaili LLC ("Emaili," "we," "us"), [state] limited liability company, [mailing address]. It applies to the Emaili desktop application (the "App"), the website at emaili.ai (the "Site"), and our licensing and support services.

2. How the App works

The App connects directly from your computer to the email, calendar and contact services you choose to add (for example Microsoft, Google, Yahoo, Apple or your own mail server). Messages travel between your provider and your computer only. A copy of your mail is stored on your computer so that it can be displayed, searched and used offline. Emaili LLC is not a party to that connection and has no technical means of viewing it.

3. Information we do not collect

The content, subject lines, attachments or recipients of your email.
Your contacts, calendar entries or tasks.
Your email passwords, app passwords or sign-in tokens.
Your browsing activity or any data from other applications on your computer.

4. Information stored only on your computer

The App keeps your mail copy, settings, account list, labels, reminders, time records and similar data on your device. Passwords and sign-in tokens are stored using the operating system's protected credential storage (Windows Credential Manager on Windows, Keychain on macOS). This data remains under your control; removing an account from the App deletes its local data, and uninstalling the App together with its data folder removes it entirely. You are responsible for the security of your own device and any backups you make.

5. Information we collect

License purchases. Payments are processed by [payment provider], which acts as [merchant of record / payment processor] and handles your card details under its own privacy policy. We receive your name, email address, country, the product purchased and the license key issued, which we keep to deliver and support your license and to meet tax and accounting obligations. We never receive your full card number.

Correspondence. If you email us — for support, the beta program or any other reason — we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include, and use it only to respond and to improve the App.

Update checks. The App periodically contacts our update host to check for new versions. As with any internet request, the host receives your IP address and the App version. We do not use this to identify you.

Error reports. If the App encounters an error, it may offer to send a technical report. Reports are sent only if you agree, are designed to exclude email content, and are used only to fix problems.

The Site. The Site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and operations.

6. Artificial-intelligence features

AI features are off by default. If you turn them on, you choose one of the following:

Local AI, which runs on your computer; no email content leaves your device.
Your own AI account (for example Anthropic, OpenAI or Google). In this mode, the App sends the specific content you ask it to process directly from your computer to the provider you selected, under your own agreement with that provider. Emaili LLC does not receive or store that content and is not responsible for the provider's handling of it.

7. Google and Microsoft account data

Where the App accesses Google user data, its use and transfer of that information adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data obtained from Google or Microsoft accounts is used solely to provide the App's user-facing features, is not used for advertising, is not sold, and is not used to train artificial-intelligence models.

8. How we share information

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share the limited information described in Section 5 only with service providers who help us operate (such as our payment provider, email host and website host), when required by law or valid legal process, or in connection with a merger or sale of our business, in which case this Policy will continue to apply.

9. Retention

We keep purchase records for as long as required for tax, accounting and license-support purposes, and correspondence for as long as needed to resolve the matter and for a reasonable period thereafter.

10. Your choices and rights

You may ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, subject to legal retention requirements. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation. 11. Children

The App and Site are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

12. Security

We limit the information we collect, and the App is designed so that your mail does not pass through our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be posted on the Site before they take effect.
